Corpsecon - A C I D

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained within a vat made of brass. The vat must be filled with 10 liters of fluid with a acidity ranging between 1 – 2 pH. The fluid is to be replaced every six months, and the waste product must be removed through chemical waste disposal.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a disembodied human brain, 15 cm long and weighing approximately 10 kg. The body of SCP-XXXX throbs constantly, producing a low hum.

SCP-XXXX possesses an orifice on the bottom of its body, resembling the mouth of a Petromyzontiformes (lamprey)1. This orifice fulfills the roles of excretion and consumption. SCP-XXXX is only capable of consuming fluids with high acidity; this process takes around five to six months.

Studies of its anatomy have shown that SCP-XXXX possesses a single intestinal tract, which starts at its orifice, loops around the body, and then returns to the orifice. It is presently believed SCP-XXXX receives no nutrients from the acid it consumes. While it digests, its humming and throbbing will become nearly inaudible.

When finished digesting2, the acid within SCP-XXXX will proceed to undergo a chemical change, becoming a basic3 liquid. SCP-XXXX will proceed to eject the liquid through its orifice. During this time, it will throb aggressively, and its hum will turn into a high pitch wail.

Addendum-XXX-009: SCP-XXXX was discovered in Blairsville, Georgia, after several civilians reported the sound of wailing and humming originating from a nearby cemetery. Two members of MTF Iota-10 ("Damn Feds") were dispatched to investigate the possible supernatural activity, particularly due to previous anomalous phenomenon documented in the area.

The aforementioned noise was traced to a gravestone near the southern corner of the cemetery. Both agents later stated that the ground in front of the tombstone was emitting smoke, accompanied by muffled noises from underneath the soil.

Upon discovering the gravestone, MTFs Gamma-5 ("Red Herrings") and Sigma-66 ("Sixteen Tons") were dispatched to the location. Gamma-5 detained and amnesticized the civilians of the surrounding county, while Sigma-66 aided the two agents in digging up SCP-XXXX, a process which took 5 hours.

The agents then recovered a stainless steel box from the ground, where they could hear the wailing noises. Upon opening it, they discovered SCP-XXX, covered in chemical burns. The box also contained two liters of unknown base liquid4.

SCP-XXXX was taken to the Site-19 Kiryu Laboratory for extended testing; its containment procedures were developed shortly after. SCP-XXXX was then relocated to the Site-19 Light Containment Wing.
