Special Containment Procedures:

Description: SCP-XXXX is the animated children's show "Swashbuckler's Ship" hosted by a channel of the same name on YouTube.com. The creator of SCP-XXXX is currently unknown.

SCP-XXXX is limited to 20 episodes, all of which were posted on July 11, 2014, with a runtime of 9 to 15 minutes. Each episode of the show follows the protagonists, Captain' Arrrche, henceforth SCP-XXXX-1A, and his talking parrot Wilhelm, henceforth SCP-XXXX-1B, as they sail through the open ocean in search of land. The first minute of every episode reserved for the theme song and logo. From there, SCP-XXXX-1A will converse with SCP-XXXX-1B regarding a problem on their ship. This leads to the main lesson of the episode; these lessons primarily deal with survival techniques such as fire-starting, knot tying, or cooking. Over the course of the episode, SCP-XXXX-1B will teach SCP-XXXX-A how to solve the problem and the episode will end.

The final episode, which is much faster-paced than the previous ones, has SCP-XXXX-1A patch a hole in its sail and pilot through a storm. By the episode's end, the protagonists arrive on a shoreline filled with beachgoers and discuss the future since they are on land. This is supposedly supposed to lead into a sequel series or a second season, but this is yet to be determined.

SCP-XXXX primary anomalous property activates upon a viewer completing the series and rewatching the first episode. SCP-XXXX-1A and -1B will display confusion as to why they are back on the ship before gaining awareness of the viewer. At this point, SCP-XXXX-1A will break character and question the viewer.

TRANSCRIPT

I've been trying this one for a while now. I had the idea for ghosts who want a friend for dinner back in July. My original draft had the ghosts be gold miners in California, the D-Class was exploring a section of the Redwood Nation Forest, and the Ghosts were in a cabin. I ended up feeling like I didn't do enough justice, mainly because of the lead up where I went in-depth on the people who disappeared and the log was about twice as long with just build up. I also had a weird thing where the D-Class would go into shock and refuse to speak, so the doctor would have to take charge.

After I finished up SCP-5595, I kinda fell into a rut and couldn't figure out what to write. I finally hit this one back up last week, wrote it in a night, and spent the last few days getting critiqued. Many things from the previous draft remained, the D-Class number, doctor's name, the first names of the ghosts, people disappearing, and so on. I wanted to make this a bit more character-based around the ghosts, hopefully, that came through well.

This is based on a mining town in Pennsylvania known as Centralia. This was initially the locale, but I changed it due to the Philly joke. The mines were actually set on fire, how this happened is unknown but it was believed to be an out of control fire from a controlled burn. The mines are still burning today. For some reason, 11 people are still living there as of 2019. That population actually increased for the first time in 60 years. From 10.
