Special Containment Procedures: The use of counter-memetics to neutralise and contain the effects of SCP-XXXX is underway, and a 10cm2 sample printed onto a piece of A5 paper is to be kept in a fully sealed. When use is required for experiments, permission must be given by someone with at least level 3 clearence, and it is to be kept in its sealed box during transportation to the testing chamber. There must be no direct view of SCP-XXXX available from the observation chamber during the experiment.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a specific shade of the colour [REDACTED] which appears to contain a memetic agent, from hereon referred to as SCP-XXXX-A, and as SCP-XXXX-A has the ability to transmit information through light which has been reflected off a surface coloured the shade of SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A propagates itself using light reflected off of its surfaces to find and infect its victims, from hereon referred to as SCP-XXXX-B. SCP-XXXX-B instances exhibit a strong, almost addictive desire to see things coloured as SCP-XXXX-A, as well as the colours of their hair, eyes and blood changing to SCP-XXXX-A. When questioned, instances showed willingness to complete any task in exchange for the privelige of looking at SCP-XXXX. When taken away from SCP-XXXX, the subjects exhibit symptoms of severe withdrawal the moment they are removed from its vicinity, sometimes leading to death. Research is currently underway for a method to neutralise the harmful effects of SCP-XXXX-A withdrawal on instances of SCP-XXXX-B, and if successful, may be useful as a substitute for D-class personell.
