SCP-XXXX instances should be contained no less than ten meters below any personnel access point. Enclosure maintenance should be conducted automatically from above. An electrified fence of no less than 15,000 volts should be placed above the containment pit. At least four security personnel trained to deal with SCP-XXXX instances should be in proximity to the containment pit and available to assist personnel.
A provisional site around each SCP-XXXX-Θ access tunnel is to be constructed and staffed according to standard protocol.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a unique species of humanoid bipedal insect of unknown origin, approximately two meters high. SCP-XXXX instances are dark blue or purple in color and have a thick exoskeletal shell with stone-like properties. Instances are carnivorous and extremely aggressive. The number of SCP-XXXX instances worldwide is estimated to be between twenty and 200, but this may be an inaccurate assessment if instances can reproduce.
SCP-XXXX instances have sharp multi-use raptoriales which can puncture bone structure. The most common cause of death from SCP-XXXX attacks is trauma from the detachment of the lower ribs, sometimes associated with the puncturing of the myocardium and/or various parts of the respiratory system.
In testing with confined SCP-XXXX instances, it was observed that instances could reach speeds up to forty kph while maintain a turning radius between one and three meters, without making any audibly sound resonance with their feet. SCP-XXXX instances may also induce auditory and visual hallucinations on their victims, generally before an aggressive response. Mobile Task Force agents describe these hallucinations as "whispers" or "shadows", but no way of recording or measuring these hallucinations has yet been discovered.
It has been observed that subjects appear hesitant when making decisions in the presence of SCP-XXXX instances. This behavioral change appears to be correlated to the hallucinations induced by the anomaly.
SCP-XXXX-Θ is a extra-dimensional series of catacombs, accessible only from various subterranean tunnels. These access points are generally four to six meters wide and go to a depth of thirty meters on average. Once at the bottom of the tunnel the connected catacomb is inaccessible through other means such as drilling or mining. A total of eleven access tunnels have been found.
