Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: [DATA ERASED PER ORDER OF O5-COUNCIL].

Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation for an anomalous viral infection primarily afflicting the [DATA ERASED] population in ███████. SCP-XXXX has three primary stages of progression, each with its own unique properties:

  1. In the first stage of infection, SCP-XXXX's microscopic appearance is identical to Influenza Type B. In this stage, SCP-XXXX is indistinguishable from any other form of the flu disease.
  2. In the second stage of infection, SCP-XXXX's microscopic appearance is similar to that of Yersinia pestis, commonly referred to as the Bubonic Plague. In this stage, victims will typically develop an aversion to food, a higher metabolism, and moderate muscular atrophy.
  3. In the final stage of infection, SCP-XXXX will stop reproducing within the blood stream. At this point, rapid Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva will occur, typically killing the infected within a timespan of two to four months.

Currently, SCP-XXXX's primary methods of transmission are undetermined, hypothesized to have [DATA ERASED] acting as mechanical vectors. The reason SCP-XXXX specifically spreads to [DATA ERASED] and not other ethnicities is unknown.

SCP-XXXX-1 refers to individuals in the [DATA ERASED] population which posses the Y-chromosomal haplotype ███-█. Currently, SCP-XXXX-1 constitutes ~3.7% of the total [DATA ERASED] ethnicity. SCP-XXXX-1's Y-chromosomal haplotype renders the individual immune to the effects of SCP-XXXX, with the disease never entering the second stage and not spreading. The reason for this is not known.
